Visionary Ball 2022
A hybrid in-person and virtual fundraiser celebration for Intuit

Visionary Award Recipient: Frank Maresca, co-founder of Ricco/Maresca Gallery
Honorary Chair: Victor F. Keen

Visionary Ball, this year on June 2, 2022, unites the worldwide community of artists, art appreciators and advocates for Intuit. The fundraiser celebration will be hybrid with an in-person cocktail event at Salvage One, an indoor and outdoor venue and antique store (1840 W. Hubbard Street, Chicago, IL); valet parking will be available. Friends from afar can participate in the livestreamed 30-minute program beginning at 7 p.m. central on Zoom.

Intuit will honor Frank Maresca as this year’s Visionary Awardee, an accolade given to those doing outstanding work in the field of outsider art, as well as reflect on the exhibitions, programs and events that championed outsider art and the voices of these artists.

All proceeds support the museum’s ability to offer accessible outsider art exhibitions and programs to students, teachers and audiences around the world.

A long-term advocate of self-taught, outsider and folk art, he has showcased the work of artists creating on the margins of the art historical mainstream for over 35 years. Through many gallery exhibitions, museum collaborations, publications, philanthropic work and the management of key artist estates, Maresca has championed the crossover of vernacular art into the Contemporary and Modern arenas.

Victor F. Keen is a longtime friend of 2022 Visionary Awardee Frank Maresca and an owner of a nationally recognized collection of outsider art. He is currently involved in various cultural and entrepreneurial activities, having retired as a partner in the international law firm Duane Morris, LLP. He began collecting in the mid-’70s, growing his collection to span the breadth of the outsider art genre (e.g., Bill Traylor, William Hawkins, James Castle, George Widener, Martín Ramírez and Sam Doyle) and include vintage toys, radios and toasters. Since 2012, his collection has been housed at The Keen Collection of Outsider Art at Bethany Mission Gallery in Philadelphia. It was his friendship with Frank that first sparked Keen’s interest in outsider art more than 40 years ago.
