Visionary Ball 2021
A virtual fundraiser celebration for Intuit
Visionary Award Recipient: Lisa Stone, artist, curator, researcher and lecturer
Honorary Chairs: Ralph Concepcion and Tynnetta Qaiyim
Visionary Ball has moved to spring for the museum’s birthday on June 10! Join us from home on Zoom to celebrate 30 years of being Intuit. Enjoy inspiring stories about Intuit’s featured artists, audiences and programs; a silent auction; fun wine and cocktail packages; and more!
Intuit will honor Lisa Stone as this year’s Visionary Awardee, an accolade given to those doing outstanding work in the field of outsider art. We will reflect on the exhibitions, programs and events that championed outsider art and the voices of these artists.
All proceeds support the museum’s ability to offer accessible outsider art exhibitions and programs to students, teachers and audiences around the world.

2021 Visionary Awardee
Lisa Stone is a member of the Vivian Society, Intuit’s lifetime trustee group. She recently retired as a senior lecturer in the Department of Art History, Theory, and Criticism at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where she earned a Master of Science in Historic Preservation. Her research, teaching, writing and curating concern the preservation and interpretation of artist-built environments and the realms of non-mainstream art. Stone was curator of the Roger Brown Study Collection (1997-2020) and currently consults for the John Michael Kohler Art Center’s Art Preserve in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She was co-curator with Kenneth C. Burkhart of Chicago Calling: Art Against The Flow, that traveled from Chicago to Paris; Kaufbeuren, Germany; Lausanne, Switzerland; and is currently on view in Amsterdam. Intuit is pleased to honor Lisa Stone at this year’s Visionary Ball with the Visionary Award, given to outstanding trailblazers working in the field of outsider art.
