Poems While You Wait

Intuit is pleased to welcome back Poems While You Wait, a collective of poets and their manual typewriters whose mission is to provide patrons with an unexpected and decontextualized encounter with poetry.

Participation is easy. During your visit to Intuit on Saturday, February 26, Poems While You Wait will be stationed in the museum’s galleries from 1–3 p.m. Donate $5 and poets Eric Plattner and Alex Berge will craft a poem just for you. No requested topic is too big or too small, too funny or too sad, too silly or too serious.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Share your name.
  2. Share a topic you would like the poets to write about, ranging from specific to abstract with as little or as much information as you would like to give.
  3. Enjoy the exhibitions The Life and Death of Charles Williams and Building a Legacy.
  4. Return to Eric and Alex for your custom-made, one-of-a-kind original poem to keep for yourself or gift to someone else.

The $5 donation to Poems While You Wait is not included in admission to Intuit and supports Rose Metal Press, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit independent publisher.

Before you go to Intuit, please check our availability on Tock or by contacting the museum. Intuit requires guests, including members, to reserve timed-entry tickets in advance.

Please contact Lindsey Wurz at lindsey@art.org with questions related to accessibility accommodations.
