Sister Karlyn Cauley
Sister Karlyn Cauley’s work provides a new perspective on age-old beliefs. For instance, she depicted multiple women with snakes because she “felt the Snake was dishonored in the Biblical book of Genesis.” Her widely known Shaker Gift Drawings show the life and art of the Shaker community, a Christian denomination, which adds to her repertoire’s religious significance.
