Growing up in Iran, Azi watched her mother and grandmother knit and sew to create beautiful clothing; she learned how to knit at a very young age. Years later, as a student at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she began knitting again as a meditative activity and an outlet for her creativity. Now, she draws on traditional designs in her handmade scarves and jewelry, but she includes “twists and turns” when making these one-of-a-kind items. Azi takes pride in giving people the chance to show their individual flair through her accessories.
