Position Summary

The Development Officer for Mid-Level and Planned Gifts plays a key role in advancing the mission of Intuit by fulfilling the interests and passions of donors to Intuit by providing them with giving opportunities and encouraging them to give at the mid-level range ($1,000–$10,000 annually) and planned gifts. Reporting to the Development Director, this position collaborates closely with other Development team members to build lasting relationships with donors and ensure sustained financial support for the museum’s programs, exhibitions, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Mid-Level Donor and Planned Donor Relations

  • Qualify donors for a caseload
  • Create a plan for each donor tier level on the caseload based on previous giving behavior
  • Create and execute a contact, marketing and communication plan for each donor tier on the caseload; the plan should focus on fulfilling the donor’s interests and passions. Execute that plan and modify it as circumstances change.
  • Work with program staff to secure project information for creating donor offers (front end) and reporting to donors on how their giving made a difference (back end).
  • Perform other donor relations officer duties as required, including monthly reporting that accurately reflects caseload activity and performance.
  • Manage the Legacy Society planned giving program, including the identification, cultivation and solicitation of prospective planned gift donors.
  • Develop marketing materials and campaigns to promote planned giving opportunities.
  • Serve as a resource to donors and their advisors on planned giving vehicles, including bequests, charitable gift annuities, trusts and other options.

Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work closely with the Development Director to align mid-level and planned giving strategies with overall fundraising goals.
  • Collaborate with other development team members to support donor pipeline development and movement toward major gifts.
  • Participate in team meetings, planning sessions and cross-departmental initiatives to improve Intuit-wide initiatives and find opportunities to enhance donor engagement.

Administrative Duties

  • Monitor trends and best practices in mid-level and planned giving to refine strategies and ensure success.
  • Assist with special events and campaigns as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in fundraising, donor relations or a related field. A focus on major, mid-level or planned giving is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven ability to build relationships with donors and solicit gifts effectively.
  • Knowledge of planned giving vehicles and strategies, or willingness to learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using a Customer Relations Management or donor database software; experience with DonorPerfect is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for the arts and the mission of Intuit.

Work Environment

  • Some evening and weekend work required for donor events and meetings.
  • Occasional travel to meet with donors and prospects.

Compensation

Salary range is $53,000-$57,000 based on experience.
