Administrative and Development Internship

The volunteer administrative and development intern reports to the development manager and development associate. Candidates must be able to work 15-20 hours per week (two to three days per week).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with updating information in the donor database and preparing donor tax letters and membership materials
  • Carry out administrative tasks related to development initiatives, including event mailings, annual fund letters, donor acknowledgement letters and more
  • Assist with drafting emails for membership and donor solicitations
  • Assist with occasional special fundraising evening events as needed (typically once a month)
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Provide general support to the development manager and development associate
  • Participate in meetings and professional development workshops with staff, board members, volunteers, interns and collaborators on a regular basis

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in copy editing and written communications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Previous fundraising or development internship or volunteer experience preferred
  • Previous experience using donor management software helpful
  • Interest in museums and arts organizations preferred
  • High level of professionalism
  • Good interpersonal skills
