Intuit Joins West Town Art Walk 2017
We're staying open late for West Town Art Walk!
Friday, October 6, 5-9:30 p.m.
West Town showcases its thriving art scene at the 7th annual West Town Art Walk on Friday, October 6 (5-8 p.m.) and Saturday, October 7 (12-8 p.m.). The unique aesthetic festival celebrates art in all forms – visual, musical, culinary, fashion – on Chicago Avenue in the heart of West Town. But the fun doesn’t end there. Like last year, the 2017 West Town Art Walk will be presented in conjunction with the 2017 West Town Food Truck Social, pairing together Chicago’s best food trucks with Chicago’s best artists. Attendees are encouraged to snack-and-stroll through the hood, enjoying mobile delicacies at the Food Truck Social while checking out pop-up galleries at dozens of West Town retail stores and restaurants up and down Chicago Avenue and surrounding streets. Stop in to Intuit to view our exciting current exhibitions!
Intuit will stay open for extended hours, until 9:30 p.m., on Friday, October 6. Join us that evening for a preview performance of Tellin' Tales Theatre's upcoming production, Six Stories Up in Haunted Chicago. Act 1 will be presented 7:30-8:15 p.m. and Act 2 will be presented 8:30-9:30 p.m.
Tellin' Tales Theatre's Six Stories Up in Haunted Chicago finds kids on a ghost tour that takes a turn toward the scary when they stop at Resurrection Cemetery. They meet famous Chicago ghosts who have a lot to say about the current state of our city. These spirits include Al Capone, John Belushi, Resurrection Mary, Malcolm X, opera singer Mary Garden and playwright Lorraine Hansberry. The result is a hilarious and often moving musical peppered with personal stories told by students and adults with cerebral palsy, blindness and dwarfism, as well as their non-disabled peers. The show will be produced at the Filament Theatre, 4041 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago October 13-22 (weekends only). For more info go to www.tellintales.org.
