Membership Internship

Reports to: Membership Coordinator
Pay Category: Unpaid
Other compensation: Occasional food and travel
Required Hours: 15-20 hours per week (2-3 days per week)

Overview of responsibilities:

  • Process new and renewal memberships through donor management software
  • Create and mail membership welcome packages
  • Develop and process donor and member cultivation letters and related mailings
  • Generate reports as needed for marketing initiatives and donor/member campaigns
  • Input member and donor data in donor management software
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Provide general support to the Membership Coordinator
  • Interact with staff, board members, volunteers, interns, donors, curators, artists, lenders, vendors, museum visitors, and other constituents through written and verbal communication on a regular basis

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Previous membership, fundraising, or development internship/volunteer experience preferred
  • PC skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using donor management software helpful
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • High level of professionalism
