An Evening of Music with Kevin Montgomery
February 23 , 2006

Kevin Montgomery

Press release:
Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art will present Nashville singer-songwriter Kevin Montgomery in performance on Thursday February 23rd at 8:00 pm at Intuit, 756 N. Milwaukee Ave, Chicago IL. Admission is $20; funds raised from the event will support Intuit's exhibition and educational programming. Call 312-243-9088 with your Visa or Mastercard ready or send a check payable to Intuit to reserve your tickets. You must make reservations by February 21 st, as seating is limited.

A child of Nashville in more ways than one, Kevin Montgomery has carved out his own niche in contemporary country music. His father Bob Montgomery was Buddy Holly's songwriting and performance partner and then became a major producer in Nashville. His mother Carol Montgomery was an active session vocalist in Nashville. Kevin maintains residence in Nashville, but is often found in Britain where he has cultivated a sizable, devoted following. One reviewer in The Guardian has commented that Kevin "has a knack for sweet melodies that make a perfect fit with his light and supple voice" and that his gigs are "habitually awesome."

For this performance, Kevin will be joined by fellow musical traveler Shawn Byrne on guitar.

Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art promotes public awareness, understanding, and appreciation of intuitive and outsider art through education,
exhibition, collecting and publishing.  Intuit defines ‘intuitive and outsider art’ as the work of artists who demonstrate little influence from the mainstream art world,
and who instead are motivated by their unique personal vision. This definition includes art brut, non-traditional folk art, self-taught art, and visionary art.
