The CAPE Parents Program
CAPE engages students, inspires teachers, and demonstrates impact by weaving the arts into academic classrooms. We partner teaching artists with Chicago Public Schools teachers to develop original, creative lesson plans that use visual and performing arts to teach traditional classroom subjects, both during and after school.

In 2010, CAPE began supporting parent art classes at schools where we have an after-school program. These classes help parents develop technical, creative, and language skills through art making and community building, and lead to greater involvement by these parents in their children's schools, neighborhoods, and Chicago at large.
