Collections & Exhibitions Internship


Reports to: Collections & Exhibitions Manager
Pay Category: Unpaid
Other compensation: Occasional food and travel
Required Hours: 15-20 hours per week (2-3 days per week)

Overview of responsibilities:

  • Review donations to Intuit’s permanent collection
  • Arrange for shipping and receiving of art objects
  • Onsite moving and handling of art objects
  • Coordinate insurance of loaned art objects
  • Work with Collections & Exhibitions Manager and curator(s) on research, label writing, installation strategy, and gallery preparation for exhibitions
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Provide general support to Collections & Exhibitions Manager
  • Interact with staff, board members, volunteers, interns, donors, curators, artists, lenders, vendors, museum visitors, and other constituents through written and verbal communication on a regular basis

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Previous art handling experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Comfortable working on a ladder
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools
  • Mac and PC skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Photography experience
  • Strong writing skills
  • High level of professionalism
  • Good interpersonal skills
