Administrative and Development Internship


Reports to: Executive Director and Development Coordinator
Pay Category: Unpaid
Other compensation: Occasional food and travel
Required Hours: 15-20 hours per week (2-3 days per week)

Overview of responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Development Coordinator and Executive Director
  • Maintain calendar for grant applications and reports
  • Identify new funding opportunities and gather materials needed for grant applications
  • Assist with membership program and prepare membership materials
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Carry out administrative tasks related to development initiatives including event mailings, annual fund letters, donor acknowledgement letters, and more
  • Conduct research related to catering, special events, lodging, transportation, hospitality, peer institutions, community partnerships and development
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations, agendas, minutes, and other supporting materials for board meetings
  • Assist in administrative coordination of workshops, public events and donor cultivation events
  • Aid in marketing and public relations initiatives
  • Provide onsite support at Intuit events (name tags, seating, set-up and overall logistics)
  • Interact with staff, board members, volunteers, interns, donors, curators, artists, lenders, vendors, museum visitors, and other constituents through written and verbal communication on a regular basis

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Previous grant writing, fundraising, or development internship/volunteer experience preferred
  • PC skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word)
  • Experience using donor management software helpful
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • High level of professionalism
