Curator Karl Wirsum has “eyeballed” Intuit’s Permanent Collection to create an exhibition of his favorites. As a member of the Chicago Imagists group Hairy Who, he was instrumental in setting the tone for Chicago’s art scene in the 1960s. As an artist, Wirsum has developed a style that combines vivid graphic imagery with a sense of humor, a style that is mirrored in his selections for this exhibition. Karl Wirsum Eyeballs the Intuit Collection celebrates those artists who create work that expand the imagination.

Wirsum is Adjunct Professor, Painting and Drawing at School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his art can be found in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, Whitney Museum of American Art, NY, Krannert Art Museum, University of Illinois, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, IL, National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C.
